2093 Marine Drive, Astoria Oregon
In the old Weatherly Ice Cream Building
Business is now closed for good - Spring 2023
Built in 1910 by Portland's Weatherly company. Ice was produced in the basement (Now Terry's Plumbing) and then taken by elevator to the main floor to be loaded onto trucks for distribution. The Main floor also housed the office, a small creamery were you could buy ice cream and butter. The main floor is now the antique store. Ice was also taken up to the third floor to make shaved ice for fish storage and shipments.
The walls are solid cement, some 10 inches thick. The building survived the 1922 Astoria fire making it one of the older commercial buildings in Astoria.
