CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Led operations department for 52 locations in major markets with a national exhibition circuit. Recruited district managers, opened new locations, re-located management across the country and directed my department through a parent company bankruptcy / restructure process. Retained 95% of my department through difficult restructuring transition.
Planned take over of 5 existing cinema locations in an acquisition of a San Francisco Bay area market. Recruited personnel, trained staff in new procedures and set up new accounts. Facilitated a transparent transition from one company to another.
Created a promotional campaign for a feature film that received national attention and was ultimately purchased by a national film distributor. My responsibilities included writing, producing and cutting TV, Radio spots, editing coming attraction film, designing newsprint ads and implementing multiple media events.
Improved communications and customer service. Streamlined system costs, corrected, and implemented new systems to reduced the amount of busy signals at peak hours to zero.
Managed various new theatre projects across the country. Opened new locations in Chicago, Manhattan, San Francisco and New Orleans. Managed equipment purchase and installations, negotiated labor contracts, developed operational budgets and successfully opened new locations. Locations in Chicago and Manhattan were the first in those cities for the company.
Organized various projects and decreased spending in operations. Facilitated capital improvements, managed equipment installations, resolved parking regulation fines, negotiated labor contracts.
Created an online sales web site for less than $20 a year. Within one week sales exceeded inventory (even after a price increase). Created a notification waiting list of 100+ customers. Wrote / Directed / Edited / Produced promotional Video for South Bay School Of Cooking
Orchestrated the World Premier opening of Henry Jaglom's SITTING DUCKS movie.
Worked with Randy Findley and Director Henry Jaglom to develop a marketing campaign for his film Sitting Ducks in 1980. I produced the TV spots and theatrical 35mm trailers. Produced two 10 foot three dimensional ducks to be anchored on the roof of the cinema. Two neon ducks were added to marquee. Designed newspaper artwork with help from artist Lynda Barry. Set up local morning TV cooking comedy sketch promotion. Set up interviews with local press for cast and director.
